Okay. the song itself it a little catchy...well, the Busta Rhymes version anyway, but truth be told, Lumidee just can't sing. She barely even sounds 'alright'. Had she went on American Idol, she would've...well, do I really need to finish that statement? Like I said, the song is a little catchy, but only because of it's beat. But just to re-iterate one more time, LUMIDEE CAN'T SING! My God, she's all off key and sh**...it's almost as if her vocals on this song is meant to be a joke, like William Hung.

I'm older than most people reviewing this song - I'm sure. I'm 47. My 9 year old little girl takes a hip hop class - and 'Never Leave You' is the song her class will dance to at the recital. We bought it so she could practice at home. I have taken professional voice lessons - and my opinion is that it's horribly unfair that this Lumidee girl is making money singing. She sings in a very nasal voice and is either flat or sharp over 25% of the time. And there is nothing else to listen to except the drum track. I just yell out 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 so my kid can do the steps at the right time - AND so I can drowned out that girls voice. YIKES! So 'old lady' who knows a bit about music gives it a 1. I guess she deserves something for trying.

-10. I have been tortued by this out of tune crap with its crummy drum machine tapping away on loop since, I can't believe it, August 2003. And they're still playing this crud on London R&B stations - quite unbelievable. Thank God there are so many great tunes out there today that they make this one sound even worse than it did almost two years ago....

This song serves its purpose, that of being repetitive & monotonous but catchy. Her vocals, obviously untrained, are not powerful and don’t raise any bar either. But I think vocal in this context is secondary. This is a dance/club track and at times it even has the trance feel to it. It’s the overall production that’s been engineered in the studio to make this a decent track for the clubs. Like many mindless but fun dance number out there, this is beat-driven, that’s just it. I give it a 6 when I heard it for the first time coz I think it’s a no fuss song & has that naïve simplicity approach.

The beat used in the lumidee song 'uh oh' is a jamaican beat called the diwali rhytmn the person who came up with it is 100% jamaican and he sold it to lumi and her friends which was a big mistake. She sounds like crap and does an injustice to the beat. i really am ashamed of the jamaican flag being in that video. I sincerly hope from now on only jamaican artists are allowed to use it.

(6/23/03, 6 p.m. ET) -- Singer and rapper Lumidee will release her debut set, Almost Famous, on Tuesday (June 24). The first single, 'Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh),' is presently Number 24 on the urban Radio & Records National Airplay chart. The singer recently said that her vocals on 'Never Leave You' were actually from another song she recorded and that her hit is actually a blend created by DJ Tedsmooth.
Lumidee said that her vocals sound off key because the were actually recorded over another track. 'Basically, he DJ Tedsmooth just broke the whole beat down,' Lumidee says. 'He played the whole beat over, and it sounds like I'm almost singing it to the beat. But it's the same vocals from almost two years ago, so it's just a blend. So like when people be like, 'It's off key. It's hot but it's like off key.' It's cause it's off key cause I didn't sing it on the track.'

hahaha! you f***ers supporting lumidee are funny. I'm not hating. She really, truely, honestly can't sing. Man! She is completely tone deaf. She sounds like a 10 year old, total lack of control of her vocals. LOL!!! You hard-core supporters I must admit are dedicated. I have to respect that. But this is my review, which is my own opinion. We all have our own opinions so lets all respect them. The beat is played out, I've already heard it on Wayne Wonder's 'No Letting Go' and even he used it better. Lumidee's version of the beat is just monotonous (too repetitive), plain boring. Her voice doesn't make it any better because it needs to be more dynamic to make up for the lacking beat. 'uh oh' is not dynamic at all. While I haven't heard her other songs, we are just reviewing this song according to the forum title. Maybe she will redeem herself after I listen to her other songs. But for now, this song is so horrible it makes my ears bleed.

It never ceases to amaze me what crap gets airplay these days. First time i heard the song, i thought it HAD to be a joke. Who in their right mind would release such garbage... much less give someone who cant even sing a recording contract?! How hard can it be to buy a drum machine, hit a button, and consider the music track done? And she didnt even do that, she stole the beat from someone else! Then she *attempts* to sing to it. I totally agree with all of the people who give this song a 0 out of 10. This song really sucks! Why? Firstly, the person who sings this song, really doesn't know what a tune is. That person is singing out of tune! I repeat, OUT OF TUNE! Such songs should be shifted out of all the playlists on all radio stations. To make things even worst, the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart is featuring this song and it's now in the top 10! What a shame to the music world for such a prestigious chart to feature such lousy song. For those who love this song, I've to say that you guys certainly do not know what music is. okay, i'm 'a fan of all things music'. says it right up there. unfortunately for lumidee, her song 'never leave you' has very little in the way of music, and so i'm assuredly not a fan. let's begin with the voice. her voice is about the only thing slightly musical about this song, and i do mean slightly. she's a bit off-key, and the melody is neither very interesting nor very vocally demanding/challenging. that being said, her vocas absolutely shine in comparison to the practically non-existent background. it's two drum beats, and one of them (the more interesting one of the two) can also be heard in the background of wayne wonder's 'no letting go'. the other beat, not joking, goes 'thud thud thud thud' in 4/4 time. that's it. that's all there is to this song. the production value even makes amanda perez' 'angel' sound sonically full. i'm sorry, but this is one of the sorry excuses for a 'song' that i have heard on the radio in a long time. but guess what? it doesn't matter what i think, or what you think, or what anybody else thinks. radio doesn't seem to care anymore... it's already #5 on the billboard hot 100, and i'm sure we'll be hearing this song constantly over the next few months.

i'm really sorry, but this song is really not very good. the song is catchy at one point (the uh-oh thingy), but the song is not that special, and her voice is really disappointing. i hope she has better songs off her album, she's pretty, and i wish her the best.

i really love this song, the type that i can get stuck in my head for days and enjoy it the whole time. i like lumidee's sound even though most would not rate her as a great singer(including myself). but it's alright, the song still rocks and i hope to hear more from her.
