my brother has been in iraq twice already, and fought many times in the iraqi freedom war. the first time i saw this video i cried for a long time, it reminds me so much of him. so thankyou for making this video and writing an amazing song. 3DD roccksss!

This is song is awesome. I am a Coast Guard Wife, A navy cousin, A Marine Cousin and a bestfriend to two Army Soldiers.... I am so greatful to 3 Doors Down for this. My husband also thanks you... he loves your music.

I'm a big 3 Doors Down fan I own both albums and I was just looking over the lyrics and point out that one of the course lines are wrong where it says Love me when I'm wrong it should say Right me when I'm wrong, just wanted to point it out so it could be fixed

Yeah I like this song. While I was oversee's in the Persian Gulf this song came out. And they played it on our ship and the crew blew up. We appreciate everyone's love for us.

My friends band plays this song. I was thinking the other day that this song should be on an Air Force commercial and the next day I saw this song on an Air Force commercial. Keep up the good work!!!!!

hell yeah. All positive reviews. That's what 3 doors down is good at. making good music. this song should have went to #1. It got to #4. It's a great song that will stick around for a while. Good job guys. You're one of the great rock bands out there right now. Great albums too.

Another great song by 3 Doors Down, but I don't think it's the best they've had. 3 Doors Down has a way of using a formula and making it work every time and this song is no exception. I have 3 Doors Down's 'The Better Life' album, and I certainly wouldn't object to buying their new one.

How did this song get on #18?????? It should be on #1!!!! My brother is in the Air Force and isn't going to be stationed in Iraq, but will be at the Airport where the president goes in and out of. Dangerous spot! This song reminds me of my brother sooooo much! I sing along with it every time and I can't wait to get the CD so I can play it over and over! --Lizi

The videeo for this song is a wonderful tribute for our soldiers and I, too, cried when I saw it. Ever since the song came out on the radio [I'm a radio slob :P] I've liked it. The video just added more meaning to it I guess. And then they came out with the soldier's tribute version for the radio. Half of my family has been in the armed forces at some time or another so I know what it's like to fear the loss of a loved one. 3 Doors Down is a good band and deserves this 10.

One of the best on this chart, the video is cool too. Not really high budget but not chessey. One of the more original songs from the Nickelback/Staind/Creed genre.

I used to like this song a lot (I was already accustomed to it long before it became popular), but it plays constantly on the 5 'young-person' radio stations in my area. And I hate to say this, but I'm somewhat sick of hearing this song all day long. I'll still give it an 8 though. 3 Doors Down is a good band, and I doubt they expected 'When I'm Gone' to reach such high levels on the music charts.

The first time I heard this song I cried, and then I saw the video and cried even harder. My soon to be husband is in the Army and he's leaving very soon. I can relate to the song very well. This song comforts me when I'm feeling sad and alone. So this song means alot to me! *sniff*

decent song, the arpeggio harmonizing in the intro recalls abit of Metallica's early days, but then they go into the same exact chord proggresion they are already known for(in terms of descending chord proggresions) not bad, but nothing new
