This is real Kelly Clarkson. I don't like the way I sound on break away. I scream too much. I only soud good because they cut and paste my whole album. Mariah carey won three grammy's and I won two meaning I suck. And American Idol is the past. Simon...please

The smash hit “Breakaway” sung by Kelly Clarkson comes from the best selling album Breakaway. The song was written by Matthew Gerrard, B. Benante, and Avril Lavigne, and published by Seagulls Music Publishing. The song is basically about going through a new transaction in life, taking risks, chances, and making changes. The song also talks about the feeling of belonging, suffocation, unhappiness, determination, and freedom. It is both memorable and meaningful in many ways because it gives the reader and listeners many emotions and the meanings of life. The song “Breakaway” explains about a person who felt like they did not belong where they were at that point of there life, because no one heard them when they were trying to speak out. Some examples from the song are, “Trying hard to reach out, but when I tried to speak out, felt like no one could here me.” “Wanted to belong here, but something felt so wrong here, so I prayed I could break away.” Then the writer explains the person’s determination and courage to break away, and how the person would never forget the place they came from, and the ones that they loved. Some lines from the song gives feelings to its audience such as, “Out of the darkness and into the sun,” and “Though it’s not easy to tell you goodbye.” The language and imagery helps the writers get a point across because they use alliteration, imagery, metaphors, repetition, rhyme, and rhythm. The song is of great significance to many different people. Everyone can relate themselves to the song in some different way. It raises a lot of emotions and in the audience such as sadness, determination, courage, and happiness. The best part is that each individual can pull out a moral from the song because it has so much meaning and relates to everyday life. I definitely agree with the author’s point because it has given me determination, and raised many emotions inside such as sadness and hope. This song relates to everyone because each and every single human has a point in their life when they come to realize that they should start something new, gain their freedom and break away somehow. There is much strength in this song such as raising emotions, giving morals, feelings, talking about starting a new life full of freedom, taking risks and chances, and making changes in your life. It gives hope to the audience and expresses a feeling that every human being has in their life. In conclusion, the song “Breakaway” has affected and touched many people’s lives in different ways. The song has a good meaning, and gives a new approach to life. It helps people relate themselves and gives determination, strength, courage and hope to those who feel weak and unsure. It is very beautiful, touching and inspiring, and its audience would truly enjoy the lyrics and the meanings.

Sebastian P. is pretending he's smart. Don't ever dare listen to him or read his nothing but a crappy review. First of all, Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol winner. How could a contestant in a singing contest possibly be a winner if she/he has no talent at all? Why would you say that? There is more to music than just belting out some notes. Sometimes an artist likes to change the pace a bit and sound really sweet and hit all the notes perfectly. THings like false-seto do this very well. A great song and she hits great notes.

The lyrics to this song are fantastic. The only thing that bothers me is that the vocals are too simple for a singer with so much talent. Coming from a small town myself, I can relate to the emotions that are being brought out. I only hope that Kelly Clarkson gets a little more advanced in the music compositon and challenges herself in range next time.

Avril co-wrote the song with Matthew Gerrard. She wrote the lyrics (anyone who can read can tell that she did) and Matthew the guitar part. Walt Disney sent Kelly the demo that Avril did and she then sang it for the Princess Diaries movie. Kelly has an amazing voice and I am glad that she sang the song.

Avril Lavigne did co-write this song with Matthew Gerrard and Bridget Benenate according to the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack insert. Radio stations are saying that Avril wrote it, when, in fact, she co-wrote it. As for the song, it is exceptional. The lyrics are superb and the chorus is infectious. Frankly, it's a shame Avril didn't decide to keep it for herself. Given her popularity I'm sure it would have been a #1 hit.

I totally agree, this song is absolutely amazing (and I love Kelly Clarkson). I heard it in the Princess Diaries 2 and the song made the scene so beautiful; definitely a very emotional and heart-felt song. I heard somewhere that Avril Lavigne had something to do with the creation of this song, does anyone know anything about that, and if so, could please verify? thanks.

this is a wonderful song... its got my name all over it... i can totally relate to it. but it sickens me that you all are like 'oh i never liked blah blah blah but i love this' no one really cares. and if yall weren't so dang stuck up ud no they are all great

Great song... one of Clarkson's best (yes, I know she hasn't had many). But it will do well on the radio, because it's tune will take a long time to get old. Should have lasting power in the top40

I never liked Kelly Clarkson at ALL, but this song is GOLDEN! It says so much about what everyday people challenge. Most songs today are all about Love, killing, Being a gangster, and whatever- but Breakaway are the thoughts and words of a little little girl broken into music. I play it over and over, and I could never get sick of singing along with it.

I am NOT a fan of American Idol, AT ALL!! But,this girls voice is a breath of fresh air. I think it's her best song to date. I know they say it's for the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack, but, after hearing this song, I can't wait to hear her next CD.

For an extremely underrated performer, this is one of her best songs yet. She has totally grown as an artist, and is now so fluid w/ her voice. Great lyrics, sultry voice, catchy melody - absolutely love it!

I have only heard it about 2 times and all ready I am mesmerized by it. I absolutley cannot wait for her next cd to release, she is the most amazing and inspiring artist of this age.
