I discoverd the Burden Brothers 'Beautiful Night' by accident. I work at 95.1 WZZO in Allentown, Pa. I was going through the music cabinet and I came upon the single. I don't know what made me throw it on, but I did. I couldn't believe my ears. I was a huge Toadies fan. I knew by verse two I was listening to Vaden Todd Lewis. I ran to the studio to compare names with the Toadies CD insert just to solidify any doubts. and sure enough...... I read on the Burden Brothers official website that Vaden was considering leaving music forever. We can all be thankful that didn't happen. If it did, we might have missed out on this masterpeice of a song (and album for that matter). You can only imagine how many songs I hear working in this business. I would say their is 1 good song for every hundred. Burden Brothers 'Beautiful Night' has restored my faith in the future of rock and roll. Unfortunately, I am not in the position to add 'beautiful night' into rotation at our station. We only play 'the hits' so says the managemnet. Theirs no doubt in my mind that in a few weeks, I'll be saying I told you so! Barry Dawson, Air Peronality/Asst. On this site and sites like it, you're likely to get a love it or hate it response...but I'm not one of those who would either post a 0 or a 10. This song is truly classic, as this rating system suggests. Just read the lyrics! Uh- yeah....what an amazing way to write a song...it's both optimistic and yet very understanding of how it feels to not be so optimistic...I especially like the lyrics 'All your fears are coming true, and this is the time of your life that defines you'...Hell I can relate to that at times, being 24 and sometimes feeling like the weight of the world is pressing down pretty damn hard. Let me tell you a little about the Burden Brothers....lord knows I could go on FOREVER. Yes I am partial to them, and for good reason. The lead singer was the lead in the Toadies! The drummer is AMAZING....I can't even begin to describe how much of a legendary powerhouse of a rock drummer Taz is (formerly Reverend Horton Heat). There are a few other band members who are also worth mention, the bassist (Corey) is from Gwar, and I'm sorry but I'm not sure where Rizzo came from, maybe Doosu or something....but he posts online all of the time on their site www.theburdenbrothers.com and is very good at staying in touch with the fans (they all are!!! what a great quality), which I originally purchased and later traded for one of Vaden (Todd)'s guitars that he used while in the Toads. I live in IL, and so far they have mostly played just in TX, but they are branching out, have a major label record out and it's AMAZING. Buy it, you won't regret it...I listen to it all of the time. The song 'Shadow' on it OWNS. It will hopefully be a single soon too and it's CLASSIC as well. OK I'll shut up.
