I think this song is really good. If you want it to have an inner meaning, it does. (the assasination of archduke Franz Ferdinand). If you like it for how it sounds, good for you as well! What I want to say is for all those people who came here to rag on this song! Why put down other people's music for God's sake? Go listen to your own music. If you're here to rag on MTV lovers, why do it? I don't love MTV but I don't hate it. Once in a while I'll get a good song off it but for the most part i can find my own music. And by the way, get Franz's new album... it's awesome!!! All said and done, this is a good song.

this song is kewl though if u think about it, it does relate to an assassination... just think it through...weird huh... its gotta have a lil meaning to it and i think its the asassination

Well I really like this song even though it has been over-played. I'm just having a hard time figuring out the meaning, or even significance behind the lyrics..seems like someone was stoned. Btw I highly doubt the song is about Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assasination...what a randomer

am i the only one who noticed this song is a complete rip off of led zeppelin's trampled underfoot? listen to the guitar riffs in each, its disgraceful that they so blatantly ripped off the guitar riff from such a great song and tried to pass it off as their own.

I love this song! First time i heard it, i had no idea what it was about. Then i remembered about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Funny, such a popular song about one of the biggest events in world history, and i wonder how many people miss the meaning: poor man seeing his wife shot, and waiting for the shooter to 'take me out,' an act that would cost the world more than it could ever imagine.

I loved this song as soon as I heard it. The music is sooo awsome and different how they switch from one type of rock to anutha. The guitar riffs r maaaaad. And it doesnt make any sense which is cool. I dont know the band but im interested now! And the video clip is whack but amusing.

that isnt true at all........ I dont think its 'cool' because of MTV or what anyone else has told me. I hate MTV... i think its a good song because it IS. And my collection does extend beyond that. I have a very wide collection, probably wider than yours. Although there is MUCH better than this song, its still good. Read my post a couple months ago (down)

i absoloutley love franz ferdinand..there such randomers and they are sooo legendery. 'Take me out' is an amazing album...i love it. At first wen i got it i didnt love it sooo much..the more u listen to it the more it grows on you. Im loving....'this fire is outa control'..such a gd song. oh and 'darts of pleasure' and 'come on home' are fabulous aswell!!!?!? go out and buy the album...you'll love it...i swear.

I don't believe this is one of Franz Ferdinand's best songs (I prefer 'Matinee' myself). I do however like the beat of the song, and the overall sound. I think it's a bit slower than I would've liked, however. No, it doesn't 'inspire me' and it doesn't have any apparent 'inner meaning', but I like the way it sounds. And that's all I really look for in music. I've plenty of songs that are better than this, which probably do have inner meanings and do inspire me. Take Me Out is, however, still a song that I enjoy to listen to every now and then.

For those of you fools who bashed this song, you have NO idea what you're talking about. You wouldnt know the differance between good music if it hit you in the head. I would like to comment to those of you who think this song doesnt have a meaning, because it does. All songs(regardless of what we may think) have meaning, even if the meaning isnt exactly profound. It is true that this song isnt THAT original, the video is on a certain level. It's good though, very good, and idiots like the ones that bash songs like this really need to be more open minded.

i think that this is a really good pop indie rock song. its catchy...fun to listen to and sing. the guitars and vocals are great. an all round great song.

Let me start out by saying their is virtually no originally in music these days. That doesn't mean things aren't good. It means they aren't original. Everyone gets their musical inspirations from other music and draws from other bands sounds. It's how it works and can't be avoided. The opening half of this track has a distinct strokes sound but finally gets moving into a very cool (and catchy) take me out part. I enjoyed this song it's good work musically. But not original.

Thing song is great, and please, alternrockfans, do not be irritated by these trolls who come to this page to bash this song, honest and argumented commentary can be accepted though... This band has a promising future before them, and will greatly inspire new musicians. Like Seven Nation Army, may this song live on, and (instead of that great white stripes hit) may it NOT be sung aloud by drunk footballfans who complain if it is not played! good beat, good video, quite original (though I dont like music by its originality), but I didn`t like so much the meaning of the song.. , though I`m not expecting a song to change my life, I sometimes prefer songs that meen something, instead of them being empty.. yet, I like the song, and though I wouldn`t buy it, I wouldn`t change channel if I find it on MTV..

This song has a definate original sound. It has a great beat without the moronic mind-numbing repetitiveness of House or Hip-hop music. Probably the only thing I have heard on MTV that didn't honestly suck in the last 10 years.

The song uses musical ideas that other bands have done much better in the past. I also find them pretentious and irritating characters, which rubs off on their music. I also think the lyrics are quite embarrasingly bad. I will have to hear their other songs before i completely write them off.

The first minute of the song sounds like a Strokes song with a Scottish accent. Thank god it turns into something better. How can you say it sounds like the Hives/Vines/Strokes? Those bands are awful 'nu-garage', while FF is dance-punk.
