I am (sadly enough) one of the many people who did get to hear her live. This is how I base the OVERALL TALENT of performers. Anyone can use syntehsizers and computers,etc. to make their voice sound good. Her voice is absolutely horrible live. Call her punk, call her pop... I don't care, her voice sucks. That should be the true issue at hand.

Ya know, I am so sick of the words 'poser' and 'fake'. Who do you people think you are labeling somebody that you don't even know? That is seriously a pathetic and immature behavior. I person think you should stick to the classic 'If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all.' Not liking her music is one thing, but getting online and bashing her to make yourself feel important is so truely fickle. This is a good song and avril has a nice voice. However, I'm kind of frustrated with her because of her costant hypocracy. She has stated that she writes all her own songs, but that is not true. All the songs on 'Let Go' have been written by a team of professional song writers. Also, I feel as though her (Tough grrrrl) image is very manufactured. Therefore, I wouldn't buy her C.D's because I personally perfer to listen to artists who write their own songs (because I'm a writer) and don't try to live up to a certain 'fake image.' Nevertheless, this is a good song. There's still hope for Avril if she could mature a little more so she can write her own substantial lyrics and lose the clished 'punker' image. Lot's of other musicians have done it: Ani, Difranco, Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette, and even Michel Branch have (along with many others.) Hopefully Avril will learn that there's more to music than image. It's also lyrics that matter. There's still hope for her! By the way, Avril, lose the 'walking around in your under wear' part of your new music video. When you do stuff like that, you look just like the pop princesses that you often patronize in interveiws.

I really loved this song,it contained originality and soul.Plus,it had spirit.She's a great singer,in my opinion anyways.I look forward to more of her songs.She really has exelled from the starting.She may need a bit of work.But,she's only 18,I mean come on! I don't like Avril (this has nothing to do with the song but I dont care). She can't play the guitar if her life depended on it. And in all of the pictures I've seen when she's 'playing' her guitar, she's strumming a note thats not even real. She's a hypocrite, too. She says she's not punk, but once she wore a pin that said 'Kiss me, I'm punk'. And once she said 'I learned to skateboard the summer before 11th grade. I was good' now she says she sucks at skateboarding. Then, she has a bad attitude. She disses other celebrities and calls them 'fake, a poseur' when she shouldn't talk because she's one, too. Then once she said something about how she doesn't wear makeup because it's to glam for her. She said you should express yourself through your music. But she wears 3 tons of eyeliner everyday. Then she says that you'll never catch her wearing any skimpy outfits or dresses. Surprise! On one of the issues of Rollingstone she was wearing a rather short skirt. And in a more recent one, there were pics of her wearing a black bikini top and short shorts. Her belly-button was even pierced. I might as well stop here or else I'm gonna be writing all day on how Avril is a hypocritical poser.

This song is pure crap. Avril can't sing and she tries to be something she's not. She also annoys me by trying to bring 'Punk-rock' to the mainstream charts which, sorry love, you just can't do. When I hear this song... i just get chills. One of her best songs, it is so deep and profound. first of all its so sad that you guys try so hard to humiliate lavigne. what if her voice is not at its best yet? she is just 18 for gods sake, it takes time to learn how to use your voice at its best. and how would you know how it is to write a song? they call it too ridiculous if you write a complex song, and too stupid if you write a simple one. i think lavigne is doing very well and i think she is gonna be very successful with years to come. its a shame people instantly try to destroy others out of pure jealousy. if youre not talented, you dont need to bring down the ones who ARE. the song gave me creeps the first time i heard it, and i think it means a lot without words. there is soul in her voice and you just cant deny that. sure, when 'complicated' came up, i thought 'look at her go, funny girl in funny clothes'. then i bought her album and let me tell you, her best songs are the ones which were not released as singles! i dont care how much tuning and re-tuning was done over her album, but it has got soul. in the end, its what matters sometimes. im a big time u2 fan, and if you ever listened to 'elevation' alive, bono sings 'i cant sing but i got soul' and 'put some soul, put some soul'. avril's got a lot of that. and also, i dont care if she is a punk or not, cant you people just like someone not because of her image but because she is herself? and then you write 'reviews' about the celebrities you despise for being 'fake'. how sincere. i say go to hell. also, its funny some people said she was ugly, cause i think she is pretty cute and, hell, if she is ugly, im ugly too!

Not Avrils best song. But great song anyway. Her CD is awsome. Avril has a great voice good start for a new artists. I expect to hear a lot more great music comming from her. I think she will rock for many more albums.

I have a question...what's it with all these artists writing verses over and over again? DO they not have anything else to say but damn cold nights? I can't think of anything else so I'm going to rewrite everything i just said and hope no one knows that i just copied the 1st verse but added the chorus twice, tehehe. Well Avril, i noticed. Dont write a song if you have nothing to say. It gets boring after a while when its always 'Repeat Chorus' and 'back to verse one' SO what exactly is this song about, being alone? Nice lyrics, not. Try something more meaningful next time. I'm sorry to say shes Canadian, because right now, shes another cliche out there, being absorbed by the main stream, but hopefully smarter ones know she really is like every other freaking pop singer out there. WHo dares call her rock? The record label made her out to be what she is, not her, thats probably not her style. They probably just went on a search for a dumbass who quit school in grade 11. After this, shes going to be a nobody, and frankly, she cant sing either. And with the help of a recording studio she sounds half decent, but never see her live, she stinks. Just goes to show shes another fake who can't sing and can't dance, Britney has one thing on her, the ability of agility. I'm thinking Avril and Britney are tied for first on fakeness. Britney for her 'im a virgin but yet dress like like im an 25 year old prosititue' and avril for her 'im a hard ass who likes skirts, and i can truly sing, after the producers are done messing up my voice.' Pros: Avril's voice is reasonable. I actually like the accompaniement of violins in this song. This song reached out to me when I was going through a hard time, and that compelled me to buy her album. Cons: The lyrics are a bit too simple. Simple can be good, but too much simple is not. (Hence the reason why I have conveniently 'lost' her album.) So everyone has the feeling of being alone and wanting to be with someone; truly thought-provoking lyrics would drive the point home and leave more of a positve lasting impression. Also, the semi-'yodeling' during the bridge is cringe-worthy. So (in my opinion), weighing out the pros and the cons... the cons win. And this song gets a 2 out of 10 from me.

I'm With You. This song is totally moving. The minute I heard it, it somehow struck a chord in me. Somehow that song seems to stir emotions. It's kind of like a soothing lullabye song that sways inside of me. I'm not sure why. I'm not a huge fan of Avril, but there are some songs worth listening to. One doesn't have to like all of the songs a singer produces or sings. Avril may be a young new gal on the block but she doesnt do too bad.

well aside from her pre-produced image and the fact she didnt write a song(as stated by this month's Rolling Stone)nor wrote any of the guitar structures(as stated by Guitar World Acoustic)this is an actually good song! the bare chord proggresion in the intro(with the syncopated rhythm accents in 6/8 are pretty cool)along with the violin harmonizing in unison(and the lead electric guitar doing bends to add texture), then the song breaks into the chorus which changes the chord proggresion into open chords ringing out Perfect Orchestration and great cadences! I have never been a fan of Avril Lavigne. She came across as a poser to me. After hearing this song, my feelings for her haven't changed but I realise she's not talentless after all. Her voice is amazing in this track. I think what stands out most is this instrumental background. The instruments compliment her voice completely. This song seems to be very emotional and reaches out to people on a personal level, as opposed to her other songs.

To be honest, I'm not a Avril Lavigne fan. Her third single, 'I'm With You', somehow attracted me a lot. This is her first release which is a slow song. The first impression Miss Lavigne gave me was that she's a pure rock chick who only sings rock songs. This single changed my view on her. I can say that I do have some great feelings about 'I'm With You' as it relates to something about boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. The overall tune of that song is slow but heavy. In a nutshell, 'I'm With You' fits to be at No. 1 on any of the global charts around.

I love this song. Avril is so awesome, shes real unlike a lot of the artists out there. She sells her music, not her body and still manages to do very well, thats talent. Most of the female singers out there only made it this far because they are practically naked and that seems to be what the world wants, but that will eventually die because new talent will show up and push all the 'barbies' out.
