THO 100 Update for the week ending July 18, 2008

This week on the THO 100, David Guetta holds off all challengers to retain the #1 position. "When Love Takes Over" (featuring Kelly Rowland) will spend its 3rd week atop the chart. One of the challengers is UK pop sensation La Roux, with their single "Bulletproof." Music fans don't seem to mind singer Elly Jackson's crazy hair, as the song moves from #5 to #4 and has a serious shot at reaching #1 next week. At least three other songs are capable of being #1 in the coming weeks, including Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield," Lady GaGa's "Paparazzi," and Linkin Park's "New Divide." Enjoy the chart this week!

THO 100 Update for the week ending July 11, 2009

This week on the THO 100, David Guetta holds on to the top position with "When Love Takes Over" (featuring Kelly Rowland). The song has already peaked in Europe, but is still gaining airplay in the United States. The most likely contenders to take over #1 in the coming weeks: Jordin Sparks, Linkin Park, and The Black Eyed Peas. Ciara (pictured) has the highest debut on the new chart, coming in at #65 with "Work." If not for Ciara's new hit, the highest debut would have been "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson. A lot of personal chart-makers have been charting Michael Jackson songs, and "Man" is the most popular. "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" just missed making the chart as well.

THO 100 Update for the week ending June 13, 2009

Just when you thought she might go away... back comes Lady GaGa with another hit. This week on the THO 100, her new single "Paparazzi" is the largest mover on the chart and has the largest point gain. Meanwhile, "Poker Face" still sits at #2 and "LoveGame" inches up from #15 to #12. Last week "Just Dance" exited the chart after a 49-week run. The Black Eyed Peas still hold the top spot, and there doesn't appear to be any competition in the next few weeks for them. The highest debut belongs to Linkin Park with "New Divide," a song taken from the upcoming "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" soundtrack.

Linkin Park Adds to Their Hit List

This week on the THO 100, one of the new entries is "Given Up" by Linkin Park. It marks the 14th chart hit for Linkin, and follows the huge success of their previous single "Shadow Of The Day." The new chart entry moves them up to a modest 53rd on the all-time list of bands/artists with the most charted songs. They have had six top 5 hits, but have never reached #1. "What I've Done" reached #2 in 2007 and "In The End" spent a remarkable 52 weeks on the chart, which is tied for 10th all-time. I'm sure we'll hear more from this great band, but for now I hope you'll vote in our Best of Linkin Park poll:

THO 100 Update for week ending January 5, 2008

Timbaland's huge hit "Apologize" spends a seventh week atop the THO 100, still fending off advances by Linkin Park and Leona Lewis. Although still a few weeks away, it seems as though Britney Spears may have another #1 hit, as "Piece of Me" is the largest point gainer this week, moving up to #7.

Ten new songs enter the chart, led by Buckcherry's "Sorry." Finger Eleven's long-running hit "Paralyzer" reaches a new peak at #26 in its 37th week on the chart.
